I knew from the moment I met Ashlee that we would get along famously. Her love for color, Chacos, and laughter and her fun personality are so refreshing and we hit it off instantly! But it’s evident that her love for her fiance Jeffrey (and also her puppy Chip) trumps everything else. One of my favorite parts of my job is learning about my couples and their relationships. I’m always up for listening to brides gush about how he proposed, where we met, etc. Getting to know each and every one of my clients is at the heart of what it’s all about for me. Building relationships with my brides is so important, because we’re going to spend a lot of time together – figuratively and physically – as we embark toward the wedding day, and the reality is, there’s no one else a bride will spend more time with on her wedding day than her photographer.

Ashlee and Jeffrey chose two incredible settings for their engagement photos. First, we began at Morris Nursery for some fun in the greenhouse. Now, let me tell you, shooting in a greenhouse in the middle of June in West Tennessee is not for the faint of heart! IT IS HOT! In fact, I don’t think I’ve ever sweat so much in one single session before. I was a mess. Half the time, I couldn’t tell if I was sweating or crying, and I know Jeffrey felt the same way in his long-sleeve dress shirt and tie. But he and Ashlee were both troopers and we had a blast! Shooting in a greenhouse had been on my bucket list for a while, and getting to fulfill a vision with one of the world’s sweetest engaged couples made it all the more sweet for me.

After leaving the greenhouse (and freshening up!) we headed downtown for sunset, and what a perfect night it was. The light on the streets downtown couldn’t have been prettier and we even found a few trees that were shedding their blossoms – a.k.a we made a little snow in Downtown Jackson in the summertime! We walked around for a while, stopping by the venue where Ashlee and Jeffrey will say their vows in September at the Aeneas Building, and I am so head-over-heels excited for this wedding, y’all. It is going to be incredibly beautiful and heartfelt! Ashlee has the most perfect vision for her and Jeffrey’s big day and I can’t wait to see it come to life!

We ended our evening at Rock ‘N Dough chowing down on some of Jackson’s best pizza and sharing stories. I love when this happens, and I so loved getting to know Ashlee and Jeffrey better and hearing them share stories over dinner. Here are some of my favorite images from their amazing engagement session!
