Abby initially reached out to me because Colby’s younger sister recommended me. Well, his younger sister also happens to be one of my former students! How cool is that? I love when all of my worlds collide so beautifully. And I especially loved being back at The Caldwell Inn to watch this beautiful spring love story unfold. Abby’s vision for her special day included lots of bright colors and played on the overall vibe of the Caldwell–white, classic and timeless. It was a wedding filled with all of my favorite things–especially, you guessed it–LOTS of laughter! It is my pleasure to introduce to you the new Mr. and Mrs. Spain. Here are just a few of my favorite images from their precious spring wedding at The Caldwell Inn & Chapel on May 15, 2021.
Abby’s details were so much fun to photograph! I felt like I was playing “Pretty, Pretty Princess” with all of the bright colors and sparkles! How amazing are these rhinestone flats from David’s Bridal? (I want some now!) Plus, it’s not every day that I get to shoot a blue engagement ring. It complimented the daisies so well and really showed Abby’s fun and bubbly personality through her details!
Elena found the perfect spot for us to hang Abby’s dress. This wall is in the living room of The Caldwell Inn and is one of my favorite spots at the venue! It photographs so beautifully, and Abby’s lace gown from Rina’s Bridal looked like it was made to hang there.
Throughout the day, I kept reminding Abby and Colby of how blessed they are to have families with close relationships. Before their first looks, Colby and Abby’s father helped each other get ready in the Carriage House. It was such a precious moment, I’m glad I captured it for Abby to see!
Abby chose to do a First Look with her sweet daddy before seeing her groom. Before she even opened the door, he was in tears and so was she! In fact, I think we were all a puddle by this point. But don’t worry, the tears quickly turned into laughter!
Colby may have been the coolest, most relaxed groom I’ve ever worked with. He never missed a beat, making sure everything was just perfect for Abby the entire day! Not to mention, he was super easy to photograph. Just look at how handsome he is in this dapper light gray suit!
Cue more tears and more laughter–Abby could not wait one more second to hug her groom! This is the best part about a First Look: complete freedom to react the way you want to!
Abby and Colby are the new poster couple for the perfect spring wedding palette–I could’ve photographed them in this spot ALL day!
Abby’s bridal portraits just bring me so much joy! From the colorful flowers to her dreamy headpiece–everything suited her so well!
Portraits in front of the Caldwell will never disappoint or go out of style. If you are looking for the perfect wedding venue that combines comfort and luxury–this is it!
Colby gifted his groomsmen with their suits as a thank-you for standing with him on his wedding day. I thought that was such a meaningful gift, and one they should all enjoy wearing again in the future, because look how suave they all are!
Everything about these bridesmaids makes me smile! Abby and her tribe took “pretty in pink” to a whole new level!
This group was way too much fun! But seriously so great and up for every crazy idea I threw at them. They loved Abby and Colby so well on their special day and made my job a breeze.
As the bridal party got ready to head to the Chapel for the ceremony, I stole a few shots of the reception area. This is in the Carriage House at the Caldwell and it is SUCH a beautiful space! I love how fresh and romantic it looked with all of the pinks and yellows!
As the ceremony started, Colby never took his eyes off of Abby the whole time. She cried all the way down the aisle, and the congregation literally gasped when they saw how beautiful she was! It was definitely an epic entrance, if you ask me.
You could feel the love and encouragement in the room as these two were pronounced husband and wife for the first time!
Before jumping back on the trolley, we snuck back into the Chapel for Abby and Colby to enjoy a few moments of quiet before the reception. I absolutely love these photos of them in the empty Chapel. It was a beautiful way for them to begin their marriage together!
Getting their party started, Abby and Colby danced to Keith Urban’s “Making Memories Of Us” and they sang to each other as they did. It was so sweet, and the weather was perfect!
Before the sun went down, I stole the bride and groom away for a few romantic portraits in the courtyard and this time, we added the veil! Abby could not have looked more gorgeous in the golden light, so happy to have finally married her best friend!
Of course, we probably had a little bit too much fun with the veil!
What a BEAUTIFUL way to end the evening! Before we left, my amazing assistant Elena and I stopped by the photo booth for a celebratory picture! Our first wedding of the 2021 season was a huge success! Abby and Colby, we love you and are so thankful that you trusted us with your special day. We are so happy and blessed to have you forever as a part of the #honeysucklebridetribe and can’t wait to share the rest of your photos with you soon!
You did a wonderful job, and Elena was also such a great help. Thank you for these beautiful reminders of a blessed day.
