Hunter proposed to Samantha on a mountain in Colorado, completely surprising her. I loved watching both of their faces as they told me about their proposal story during their engagement session.

On the most uncharacteristically gorgeous day in February, Josh and I met the two of them out at Crooked Creek Farm in Denmark, Tennessee. When I say uncharacteristically, I mean it was 60 degrees, the sun was shining, and the slightest breeze was blowing in the air – it was PERFECT. And FEBRUARY. What?! I like to believe that it was just the perfect sign that these two are going to have a beautiful life together!

We walked around the farm, chatting about a little bit of everything, and I so loved learning about the two of them. Sam and Hunter are both the people who you feel like you’ve known forever after only an hour. We laughed, and laughed, as Hunter and Josh swapped stories of growing up in rural West Tennessee.

For the second half of their session, Hunter and Sam changed into their formal outfits just in time for sunset and they were downright GORGEOUS. I mean, I felt like I had landed smack-dad in the middle of a music video for a country love song, in the best way. Let me just tell you, a little black dress, high heels, and a clean-cut suit look SO good against a gravel road at golden hour. If you don’t believe me, you can see for yourself below!

Sam and Hunter wrapped up their engagement session with the most epic kiss in the middle of a wheat field. I think I squealed more than I have since there were still leaves on the trees in the fall. Y’all, it just did my heart so much good to get out and shoot such a fun and beautiful session for an equally fun and beautiful couple as my first one for 2019!

I absolutely CANNOT wait for their wedding in September at the incredible Venue at Waddell Place. Samantha and Hunter, I am so honored that you chose me to document this special time for both of you.
