This family is extra-precious to me. Haley and I grew up together at church, going to youth group, singing in musicals, hanging out at Sonic, late night pool parties, you name it. She graduated the year after I did. While she was at ole Miss for undergrad, she met PJ, this really cool guy who is now her husband. I had the honor of photographing their engagement in St. Louis and then their wedding in Destin, Florida. (Those are both some of my favorite trips ever!) Two years ago, I took their maternity pictures and celebrated the fact that they would soon be welcoming a little girl! This year, it was absolutely a treasure for me to photograph their now family of THREE!
Emery Louise just celebrated her second birthday on Christmas Eve, and I remember meeting her about a month after she was born when I photographed Haley’s entire family at their annual reunion. She is the happiest, cutest girl and (I think) she is the perfect combination of both Haley and PJ! When Haley told me they would be in town for Thanksgiving and wanted to take some family photos, I didn’t hesitate to pencil them in. It makes my heart burst to think back to all the milestones these sweet friends have invited me to share with them. That they trust me with their most precious memories means the world to me.
Haley, PJ, and Emery, I just love y’all and can’t wait for the next milestone to come! Here are a few of my favorites from their fall family session.
It was really chilly outside and she did NOT want to leave her mama’s arms, but that didn’t keep us from having fun and getting some BEAUTIFUL photos!
I mean just LOOK at that grin! Who wouldn’t be so happy to be snuggled between their mom and dad?!
Okay, don’t let that sweet face fool you, though. Toward the end of the session Emery was not the happiest camper and it took a little Broadway magic to bring back her giggles.
Just picture me behind the camera in a large coat, jumping and dancing around singing everything I could think of from Frozen, The Little Mermaid, and Moana like a madwoman. (It worked!)
One of my goals for 2020 is to photograph more families! So if you’re in need of some new family photos and want to have some fun, let’s make it happen!
