There was nothing but rain in the forecast on September 22nd, yet somehow we couldn’t have asked for better weather. When Sydnie, my assistant, and I arrived at the beautiful Buttrey Wedding & Event Venue for Miranda and Drew’s wedding, I was anxiously checking my weather app on my phone and watching the sky. I did that a lot that day, but the rain always seemed to be right on the edge of us anytime we needed to be outside!

I could not think of a bride and groom more perfect for each other than Miranda and Drew. Their whole day was filled with so many special things that only enhanced their story. Rather than doing a first look, they opted for a “first touch” before the ceremony and it was one of the most heartfelt moments I’ve ever experienced at a wedding. As Miranda and Drew stood on either side of the wooden doors at their ceremony site and slowly reached for each other’s hand, Miranda couldn’t hold back her tears and neither could I!

Miranda included her beautiful daughter, Addison, in every aspect of the wedding day. Addison was adorned with a gorgeous white gown like her mama’s, and had her hair and make-up done, too. When it was time for the doors to open, she walked her mother down the aisle with a matching bouquet in tow (more tears flowed– from everyone this time). During the ceremony, Drew and Miranda exchanged vows, and Drew dropped to his knee and recited his own set of vows to Addison, giving her a beautiful ring to match her mom’s. The three of them then participated in a sand ceremony to join families. When the minister announced the new Mr. and Mrs., the three of them walked back down the aisle together, one lovely lady on each of Drew’s arms. I thought my heart my explode from all of the sweetness that was packed into the day.

During the reception, it rained– but it was okay, because we were inside! Drew and Miranda shared their first dance as husband and wife and it was perfect as Ed Sheeran’s voice rang in the background. Then, Drew and Addison performed their own choreographed montage of moves and everyone laughed. The rain stopped in time for there to be a grand sparkler exit and we left with full hearts and tired feet, the sure sign of a great day.

I hugged Miranda and Drew after everything was over, and I don’t know if it was how tired I was, the anxiety from the rain, all of the touching moments, or a combination, but I just cried when I told Miranda how thankful I was that they invited me into sharing their special day with them. I truly am so grateful that my couples welcome me into these intimate moments and always leave a piece of my heart with them when it’s all said and done.

Miranda and Drew, I am thankful for you and wish you many, many years of happiness! Here are only a few of my favorite images from their special day.
